This week's seminar will be in the MALL (in the Physics Research Deck) and will be on Tuesday 2nd December at 2pm. Please note this later time. We will meet before the seminar at about 1.40pm in the common room just outside the MALL for tea, coffee, and (of course) biscuits.

Week 10, Tuesday 2nd December
Richard Elwes Sparse Random Graphs

I will give an elementary, probabilistic introduction to some lesser known siblings of the usual random graph, discovered independently (and from different angles of approach) by Spencer & Shelah and by Baldwin & Shi. Apart from being interesting in their own right, these are also close relatives of Hrushovski constructions. (I won't assume familiarity with these.)
